BT goes mobile - but can’t match TalkTalk for value

BT's new mobile deals are a case of too little too late as TalkTalk's great value offers are shown to offer more - for less.

TalkTalk Mobile tariffs start from £3.75 a month, which combined with broadband packages provide a saving of up to £260 compared to BT's entry level mobile package for broadband customers.

The value for money provider has been offering great value mobile deals exclusively to TalkTalk customers for the last three years and enjoyed rapid growth.

In December TalkTalk added a free SIM to its Plus package at no extra cost, which includes totally unlimited broadband, TV, landline, 100 minutes, 250 texts and 200MB of data a month.  The overwhelming response from customers led to TalkTalk taking up 11% of the UK SIM-only market in December alone, ahead of Vodafone and Tesco Mobile.

Around 400,000 TalkTalk homes take advantage of great mobile deals, enjoying significant savings by bundling it with their broadband, TV and home phone.

Tristia Harrison of TalkTalk commented: “Our mission is to make Britain better off, that’s why TalkTalk homes make significant savings compared to other providers, while also getting more for their money. We offer better value tariffs with a great range of handsets. The rapid growth of our mobile base is proof that more and more homes are reaping the benefits of Britain's best value quad-play services.”

Unlike BT, TalkTalk Mobile plans come with built in savings features like free calls between family members linked to the home account. All 24 month plans include a free smartphone or tablet and TalkTalk recently launched its Talk2Go calling app, for customers to use their landline minutes on their mobile.
