27-04-22: Network peak reaches new height thanks to Champions League semi-final and Call of Duty gaming update

TalkTalk has revealed a new peak record of 8.715Tbps was set on its network on Wednesday 27 April - equivalent to 363 hours of HD video per second. This overtakes its previous record from December 2021.

The Champions League semi-final between Liverpool and Villareal and a Call of Duty Warzone Season 3 update were the main contributors.

Chief Technology Officer, Phil Haslam, says: “A peak in April is very unusual, especially with good weather. It’s a reminder of the ever-growing demand for great Wi-Fi and full fibre broadband.”
