The role

As Senior Governance Manager you’ll be responsible for developing and managing the Operational Governance framework across our Direct Consumer & Business and Supply & Partnerships division.

You will work closely with external and internal stakeholders to ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are delivered.

Your responsibilities

  • You will represent TalkTalk in Regulatory & Industry meetings, creating and presenting detailed updates when necessary

  • You will act as a delegate for the Managing Director for Direct Consumer & Business and Supply & Partnerships. in internal Risk & Governance / Compliance meetings

  • You will lead a small team of Risk & Governance Managers, ensuring that; all regulatory standards are met across the business units, account owners are supported in their understanding and application of the requirements, all risks are managed with full transparency and appropriate Exco approval 

  • You will be an independent voice on performance and KPIs which underpin customer experience and drive operational Governance & Risk.

  • You’ll manage a range of stakeholders and influence across Commercial, Revenue, Operations, Product & Marketing teams – whilst the accountability for overall performance sits with you, many of the levers sit in other teams so being able to persuade and influence is key to your success.

  • You will introduce and develop a methodical approach to Test, Learn and Deployment to inform decision making continually optimise.

To be successful in the role:

  • You will be used to working at the sharp end of compliance, persuading stakeholders to get involved to change things.

  • You will be outcome driven and ideally have worked with risk frameworks, risk registers, created standards, policies and guidelines, had experience in remediation/complaints and worked in a regulated environment.

  • You will need to think like a customer. This includes understanding TalkTalk’s positioning in the market and why a customer would choose us, as well as being aware of what is going on internally and anticipating anything which might be an opportunity or a risk.

  • You will be a strong people leader who can manage both direct reports and across a matrix leading groups of people from all business areas to deliver a united goal

  • You will be experienced in practical application of Regulatory & Governance requirements, including policy writing, control implementation and risk mitigation.

  • You will have proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to and create plans which are highly flexible based on numerous internal and external dependencies.

  • You will be an excellent communicator and storyteller, being able to translate often complicated regulatory requirements into simple Director and Exec level summaries using numbers, charts, and words.  

  • Having strong organisational skills is a must.  You must be able to clearly articulate what is required but also why it’s needed along with any recommendations for change, in a way that enables quick and easy decision making.
