As a Lead Solution Architect, you will lead the development of solution architecture, typically specialising in specific architectural domains whilst maintaining an end to end view of the overall solution.

The Team

The Solution Architecture and Design Practice contains a number of teams of Solution Architects and Designers working across all functional areas of TalkTalk.

The team for this specific role specialises in designing solutions for the wholesale division of TalkTalk using the Salesforce cloud platform. The product set includes broadband as well as high-speed Ethernet and corporate network solutions. The solutions designed by the team cover the full product lifecycle from order fulfillment to service management.

The key responsibilities of this role cover the following areas:

Architecture

  • Lead the development of technical architectures in specific business areas
  • Within a change programme, lead the preparation of technical plans
  • Provide advice on technical aspects of solution development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and ensure that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied correctly.

System Design

  • Design large or complex systems
  • Adopt and adapt appropriate systems design methods, tools and techniques selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches, and ensure they are applied effectively
  • Undertake impact analysis on major design options and trade-off
  • Make recommendations and assess and manage associated risks
  • Review others' systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology
  • Ensure that the system design balances functional and non-functional requirements
  • Contribute to development of systems design policies and standards and selection of architecture components.

Relationship Management

  • Direct technical delivery (customer, partner, colleagues), consider communication strategies, executive influence, differing or conflicting goals, and other similar non-technical issues
  • Identify the communications and relationship needs of stakeholder groups
  • Facilitate open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact by developing, maintaining and working to stakeholder engagement strategies and plans
  • Facilitate business decision-making processes.

Expert Advice

  • Actively maintain recognised expert level knowledge in one or more identifiable specialisms
  • Provide definitive and expert advice in their specialist area(s)
  • Oversee the provision of specialist advice by others, consolidate expertise from multiple sources, including third party experts, to provide coherent advice to further organisational objectives
  • Support and promote the development and sharing of specialist knowledge within the organisation.

To be successful in this role you should have experience of carrying out the Solution Architect responsibilities defined above in at least one large project from inception to completion.

The following skills and experiences would be beneficial but not essential for the right candidate:

  • Knowledge of telecoms products and system architecture
  • Experience in providing solution in SF ecosystem
  • Prior experience (min 3- 4 years) of being a Technical Architect
  • Lightning and LWC Experience
  • Knowledge of integrating SF in the ecosystem via REST, SOAP and apply SF design patterns
  • Facilitate requirements gathering workshops with clients to identify pain points and provide solutions
  • Facilitate requirements gathering workshops with clients to identify pain points and provide solutions
  • Knowledge and experience in Vlocity CPQ
  • Experience in Vlocity Order Management system
  • Vlocity CMT Certified
  • Experience of Salesforce Security Architecture and Lightening Migrations
  • Telecom industry experience and knowledge on TMF standards
