Interim Senior Finance Manager - FP&A

This role is key in driving forward reporting projects that allow TalkTalk to be a more sustainable, cash generating business that makes decisions based on value. Focus of the role will be divided across governance of Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) reporting, and financial reporting encompassing P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.

The Group Planning and Performance team are responsible for delivering all Group-wide planning and reporting requirements and supporting the CFO in ensuring we deliver on the performance targets of the Group. We also work closely with Business Unit Finance teams to deliver our objectives.  This role reports into the Finance Director – Group Planning and Performance.

Whilst the role sits within Group Planning and Performance, the role will work closely with business partnering finance teams and commercial teams across the business.

50% of the role focuses on Customer Lifetime Value reporting. The role is responsible for:

• Governance of Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) reporting, ensuring consistent approaches across the group

• Development of a system-based solution to deliver CLV reporting, working with third party company to plan and test improvements, ensuring the output is challenged and understood

• Regular review of the output of weekly/monthly CLV reporting, making recommendations to maximise financial results

• Ad-hoc analysis to measure value performance and report on trends over time, identifying risks and opportunities and presenting results to key stakeholders

• Coordinating mitigating activity to arrest and improve negative trends

50% of the role supports the Finance Director for Group Planning and Performance in delivering month end reporting with a focus on cash flow and balance sheet.  The role is expected to:

• Deliver accurate month-end reporting, providing detailed insight on variances to Budget/forecast

• Liaise with core finance and business partnering teams to understand trends and assess future impacts

• Build improvements to current reporting processes to improve turnaround time in producing month end reports

There will also be times where the role will be asked to support other teams within Group Planning and Performance, be it sense-checking 3YP assumptions or reviewing Budget packs. As such flexibility is key.

Skills and Requirements

• Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA with relevant post qualified experience

• Demonstrable experience of building financial models and driving commercial recommendations

• Previous experience in Telecoms or equivalent setting would be beneficial, but is not essential

• Experience in an FP&A role with exposure to cash flow and balance sheet reporting

• Flexible to change

• Commercially astute individual from an analytical role within a data-rich business

• Analytical, quick to grasp the fundamentals of a business  

• Communication and relationship building skills to enable you to interface and challenge a wide variety of stakeholders within and outside the business

• Diligent, logical and quantitative in approach.

• Strong financial modelling and excel skills

• Ability to manage a high-volume workload in a fast-moving and changeable environment

• Prior experience as a Senior Finance Manager or equivalent, with commercial Business Partnering exposure
