Head of Commercial – Managed Services
In this new and exciting role of Head of Commercial – Managed Services, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading a newly formed centre of excellence, driving and maximising value from existing or new partners, and new business development opportunities across all managed service propositions, including Layer 3, Ethernet, Broadband, Voice, Cloud and Security.
As a leading figure of the TalkTalk Business Wholesale Commercial Team, you’ll be at the centre of this transformation, by working closely with key stakeholders across Sales, Finance and Product functions to support and often lead on the commercial and pricing propositions for contract renewals, new business opportunities or new products.
TalkTalk Business Wholesale Services is pivoting to full fibre connectivity and is committed to taking its Partners on the journey, with your role of Head of Commercial – Managed Services being central unlocking profitable growth and maximising value across the whole portfolio.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, your role as Head of Commercial – Managed Services is part of the new Business Wholesale Services division, where the Commercial team plays a major role in the shaping and structuring of sales opportunities, informing product strategy, maintaining the customer base and maximising value by using our market, regulatory, product and customer knowledge
We collaborate with our stakeholders which include Sales, Finance, Product and Operations. Ultimately driving sustainable value for our Partner channels and the Business.
You’ll lead a high-performing Commercial team, whilst focusing on their continuous development and performance management to create a best-in-class team with effective succession planning.
Delivering through strong leadership, managing prioritisation and your stakeholders, you’ll provide analytical, commercial and operations expertise to support the achievement of the Business Wholesale Services business plan.
You’ll review and deliver accurate and insightful data with key assumptions and recommendations on the direction that should be taken, supporting commercial strategy, product and sales operations, whilst providing commercial guidance to the Business Wholesale Services sales management team through both formal governance arrangements and in regular daily dealings.
Whilst inspiring creativity within the Business Wholesale Services Commercial Team, reviewing current processes and ways of working and identifying opportunities for improvement, you’ll be a role model, demonstrating good leadership, appropriate behaviours and ensuring compliance with regulations, laws and internal policies.
You’ll bring energy to the Commercial function and enable the team to deliver goals, supporting their development through coaching/mentoring and promoting a culture of improvement and learning, whilst creating opportunities to grow the team’s capabilities and not be afraid to take on new projects that stretch the team's remit and interest within Business Wholesale Services.
Identifying and delivering revenue generation initiatives to grow Business Wholesale Services business across all managed service product areas (Layer3 Ethernet, Broadband, Cloud, Security and Voice), you’ll also support the Commercial Director within the Commercial Leadership Team.
To be successful in this role
Proven as a Head of Commercial, or similar senior level role, who’s developed and led high-achieving commercial teams, in an established, progressive and fast-paced telecoms environment.
Extensive knowledge of multiple product areas, such as connectivity, cloud, voice and/or security.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement at all levels and success in the preparation of Executive level documentation.
Commercially astute with a clear understanding of the levers we need to pull to grow Wholesale Services.
A proven change agent with the ability to identify and deliver on revenue initiatives, with a hunger to drive the very highest levels of performance and overachieve.
A demonstrable track record of delivery in critical strategic outputs, organisational skills in complex scenarios and a relentless eye for detail
A curious mindset and the desire to always keep up with the latest industry trends.
