Data Analyst
The role
In this new Data Analyst role, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our Direct Business team through enhancement and optimisation of our customer contact strategy with targeted customer profiling and selections. Working across the key business areas of Small Business and Enterprise, you’ll collaborate with our Sales and Marketing teams, supporting new acquisition sales growth and our in-life customer base management strategy.

This role will work heavily with the marketing department and key marketing campaign decisions will be made using marketing data analysis, so it would be great if the successful candidate had worked in a similar environment previously or had been exposed to a marketing department alongside their previous data roles.
Key responsibilities
Ability to analyse datasets against campaign criteria and performance to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Responsibility for creation of bespoke campaign data selections for internal customers, adhering to contact strategy rules.
Improve ROI and CLV through targeted segmentation that supports both New Acquisition Strategy and our customer in-life Base Management strategy, incorporating Next Best Action and propensity modelling; all with an ability to quantify business impact.
Optimise marketing automation and integrate lead nurturing journeys across our Prospect and Customer Bases, particularly where overall engagement to sales lead time is longer.
Understanding complex data sources with ability to turn these into meaningful and actionable contact strategies.
Design a comms process that allows easy collation of contact data to support variable communication requests.
Be custodians of our customer’s data, ensuring we are GDPR compliant and operating under other Data related regulations (ICO, PECR) by ensuring we are targeting the right audience and developing diligent processes that ensures compliance.
Work alongside insight team to ensure customer contact is measurable and track commercial impact.
Adopt a test and learn approach, using the data to guide you to strategic recommendations.
To be successful in this role
Essential:
Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Campaign Analyst, Marketing Analyst or similar role.
Confident using SQL to create, query and utilise datasets for delivery in marketing campaigns.
Experience or exposure to marketing teams and working on marketing campaigns.
Proactive and analytical, with a fine eye for detail, understanding how campaigns are set up and how data can be refined and utilised to make strategic recommendations.
Strong commercial acumen to understand how data impacts on marketing ROI/campaign results.
Thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, whilst being calm under pressure without compromising on quality standards.
Excellent communication and listening skills, high levels of emotional intelligence and recognising the value of collaboration.
Desirable:
Marketing and/or telecoms experience.
Exposure to Microsoft Azure & Databricks.
PowerBI.
Python / R / SAS.
Digital Analytics capability (GA360, Adobe etc).
