TalkTalk reaffirms commitment to customers

TalkTalk has announced free upgrades for each and every TalkTalk home in recognition of the unavoidable uncertainty caused by the cyber attack last month. TalkTalk will offer a range of features and services to thank customers for their continued understanding.

From 1st December, all customers will be able to add a selection of the following to their package at no extra cost and with no additional commitment:

• TV content including movies, kids entertainment and sports;
• A mobile SIM with a monthly allowance of free texts, data and calls;
• Unlimited UK landline and mobile calls;
• A broadband health check by experienced engineers;

In addition, the broadband provider has also created a new bundle of online and telephone security features, designed to improve protection from scammers, malware and cold callers. The bundle includes HomeSafe®, the award winning web filter; anti-virus protection powered by F-Secure; and calling features that allow customers to block calls from withheld numbers, block the last number that called you, and to see the number for incoming calls. All customers can activate the entire security bundle free of charge.

The large-scale gesture of thanks will be available to all TalkTalk customers, regardless of whether or not they were affected by the cyber attack. Customers can find out more at talktalk.co.uk/customerupgrade.

This offer to customers comes as TalkTalk reports strong growth for the first half of the financial year, driven by take up of its mobile, fibre broadband and TV packages.

In the last six months, the value for money provider has seen over 130,000 new mobile customers take its SIM, handset and tablet bundles. Superfast fibre broadband had strong appeal for TalkTalk customers. The firm added 99,000 new fibre customers, taking the base to 578,000. Its joint venture with Sky and CityFibre to bring Ultra Fibre Optic broadband to York has also seen accelerated growth with hundreds of triallists signed up to be amongst the first to use the service that offers speeds 100 times faster than standard broadband.
