27 per cent of small businesses are very optimistic about growth in 2015
Over 90% believe broadband connectivity is fundamental to success in 2015 and will be critical to SME optimism in the New Year
TalkTalk Business launches half price business broadband for £5.25 a month
Britain’s small businesses are divided on their ambitions for growth in 2015. While just over 27 per cent of SMEs feel very optimistic that they will achieve growth in the coming year, the remaining are less positive that they will meet their targets over the next 12 months, with a fifth admitting that they are unconvinced that growth will be achieved.
New research from TalkTalk Business has also revealed the top five New Year’s Resolutions for small businesses in the UK with growing revenues (30%) and creating a happy workforce (20%) topping the list.
The top five New Year’s Resolutions for small businesses are:
- Grow revenue
- Create a happier workforce/maintain team morale
- Expand the organisation
- Operate a lean business and cut costs
- Invest in new technology
The survey of 1000 SME business decision makers also highlighted that nearly 90% of SMEs believe broadband connectivity will be fundamental to the growth and success of their organisations in 2015.
As investment in new technology is identified as one of the top 5 priorities for SMEs this year, the importance of a reliable broadband connection is rising up the agenda of small businesses. With recent research revealing that 47% of small businesses aren’t getting good value for their broadband, 2015 is set to be the year that SMEs demand the technology which their businesses deserve.
“The beginning of a new year is a time for small businesses to plan for a prosperous 2015 and demonstrate the ambition that is needed for success,” commented Charles Bligh, Managing Director of TalkTalk Business. “However, with SMEs split on whether they can expect to achieve growth this year, small business decision makers need to take control and have the confidence to demand better value for their businesses in the coming 12 months.”
