TalkTalk TV ramps up Sky entertainment content

From this weekend, TalkTalk TV will include seven Sky entertainment channels and provide even more hours of on demand Sky content in its Plus YouView TV, broadband and calls package.

The new channels are Sky 1, Sky 2, Sky Sports News, Sky Living, Sky Livingit, Sky Arts 1 and Sky Arts 2, which are all in addition to the 70 Freeview channels currently available to TalkTalk's Plus TV customers. The new channels will bring TalkTalk homes some of the very best entertainment shows from Sky, including hit shows such as Modern Family, Elementary and all new Bones.

In addition to the live channels, TalkTalk will include 100 hours of a month of on demand primetime shows from Sky 1, Sky Living and Sky Arts. The content will be refreshed throughout the week, meaning viewers can watch the latest shows whenever they want, up to 30 days after it’s first broadcast.

TalkTalk has stripped cost further by making its Sky Movies Boost half price for two months for existing TV customers. The deal will run from 8-23rd April and offer 11 live Sky Movies channels and hundreds of on demand films.

The news comes after TalkTalk announced in February that its YouView customers could enjoy Sky Sports on a day-pass basis through NOW TV.  TalkTalk homes can also add a Sky Sports Boost to their package to access five Sky Sports channels on a monthly subscription basis. Sky Sports will show 17 live Barclays Premier League games in April alone.

Tristia Harrison, Managing Director, TalkTalk Consumer commented "TalkTalk is known for offering the best value and giving our customers even more for their money. The addition of these new channels and on demand content marks yet another step towards TalkTalk TV becoming a destination for great value family entertainment. We have a staggering line up of movies, sport, kids and entertainment content available on YouView from TalkTalk this month and can't wait for our customers to enjoy the very best of spring entertainment."

The £18.50 a month Plus TV package includes totally unlimited broadband, anytime phone calls and a YouView+ box which enables seven-day catch-up and the ability to pause, rewind and record individual shows or the whole series. On demand services including iPlayer, ITV player, and 4oD are available on the TV and viewers can rent new release movies through the TalkTalk Box Office.

YouView from TalkTalk is Britain’s fastest growing TV service, with over 700,000 customers just 18 months since it launched. Customers can dip in and out of their favourite shows and movies through flexible monthly Boosts starting from just £5 a month, with no ongoing commitment.
