TalkTalk Business reveals growing demand for data and carrier services

  • 28% year-on-year growth as demand for data and carrier services soars
  • UK’s largest Ethernet enabled network with further 1,549 lines installed in first quarter

As TalkTalk Group reports its First Quarter FY2013/14 financial results today, TalkTalk Business has revealed growing demand for its data and carrier services and a 28% growth year-on-year in data product revenues.

TalkTalk Business continues to drive innovative and competitive product development that leverages TalkTalk’s network capability with the reach and flexibility of the network paving the way for a number of significant new contracts signed during Q1 FY14.

• TalkTalk Business installed 1,549 Ethernet and EFM lines during Q114 leading to an installed base at the end of the quarter of over 11,800 lines
• Strategic partnerships were signed with Logicalis, Callway One and Imex extending the market reach of its data products
• The company’s relationship with Hutchison 3G has expanded to include data deployment to 100 H3G stores, with a further 247 stores to be connected in H2
• TalkTalk Business continued to develop its direct channel including a data contract with the leading parcels and logistics business, DX Group.

TalkTalk Group has also begun unbundling an additional 300 exchanges in FY14 as part of its commitment to bringing outstanding value and services to businesses of all sizes across the UK. The company has already cemented its status as the leading Next Generation Network (NGN) operator by successfully achieving its target of unbundling over 700 new exchanges last year and a further 74 delivered in Q1 – bringing its exchange footprint at the end of June to 2,798 and its reach to 95% of the UK population. This latest commitment is indicative of TalkTalk’s Businesses’ dedication to providing exceptional connectivity to SMEs.

In addition, TalkTalk Business operates the largest Ethernet enabled network with 2098 Ethernet enabled exchanges, offering cost-effective business grade Ethernet and EFM connectivity for SMEs through to large corporate networks.
