- 92 family tickets up for grabs this winter -
TalkTalk (www.talktalk.co.uk), the biggest provider of broadband to Britain’s homes, is sponsoring the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra’s Family Concerts and is giving away 92 family tickets* this winter to celebrate.
The concert series, held at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, kicks off with ‘Fantastic Creatures’ on November 13th when children are encouraged to dress up as their favourite fictional characters. The second one-hour Christmas concerts, ‘Rudolph on Hope Street’, will have multiple performances on 18th, 19th and 21st December.
Peter Garden, Executive Director (Learning & Engagement) at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic said: "Our family concerts are hugely popular. They are a great introduction to the orchestra and classical music for children aged 4 – 10 and their families and are a great way to start the concert-going habit for a lifetime. Liverpool Philharmonic Hall makes visiting with children easy too. We’ve got a place to park buggies, baby-changing facilities, and a family-friendly café with highchairs and a home-cooked menu. TalkTalk's sponsorship is enabling us to give more families the opportunity to try out these fun-packed concerts."
Mark Schmid, Communications Director at TalkTalk, said: “This is a great way to introduce children to the delights of classical music. The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic’s Family Concerts are as child-friendly as it gets – fidgeting is allowed and singing along is positively encouraged.
“Fancy dress is the order of the day for Fantastic Creatures and we look forward to seeing some creative costumes. If that wasn’t enough, on the weekend of the Rudolph shows there will be a real-life reindeer for the children to visit, competing with Santa for centre of attention.”
The TalkTalk Family Concerts series hosts seven shows this winter, with four more scheduled for 2011. TalkTalk will be giving away more tickets in the New Year, giving children even more chances to enjoy classical music.
