TalkTalk confirms Christmas classic, Elf, is available on TalkTalk TV
Over the last few days there has been a national outcry at the news that Elf, the iconic and much loved Christmas film, won’t be on TV over the festive season. Despite looking at the TV listings, and checking them twice, Brits have had to accept that the festive favourite, starring Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel simply isn’t available on TV this year.
Unlike previous Christmases, broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky Cinema won’t be showing Elf. The movie also isn’t currently available on Netflix. The news hasn’t gone down well with fans of the Christmas classic on Twitter.

5 things you didn’t know about Elf
- Does the costume Buddy wears look familiar? That’s because it’s heavily inspired by the ones the elves wear in the claymation classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964).
- Will Ferrell actually worked as a mall Santa before his career took off.
- The infamous “throne of lies” scene had to be shot in one take, as the set was too extensive to rebuild for another shot.
- Filming Elf made Will Ferrell ill. While Buddy is happy to gobble down an endless supply of sweets, including maple syrup coated spaghetti and cotton balls made of cotton candy, the sugary diet played havoc on Ferrell.
- It may be heart breaking, but you need to know - there aren’t that many buttons in the Empire State Building’s elevators so you’ll never be able to get them to light up as a Christmas tree.
5 of our favourite Elf quotes
- The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.
- SON of a NUTcracker!
- I just like to smile, smiling's my favorite
- You have such a pretty face; you should be on a Christmas card!
- It's just nice to meet another human that shares my affinity for elf culture.
