  • ‘Check and Report’ is set to reduce the number of unwanted calls

TalkTalk has announced the launch of new phone security feature - Check and Report. The new feature enables TalkTalk customers to identify and stop unwanted calls.

Ofcom reports that UK consumers receive around 5 billion nuisance calls* a year and with 81%** of consumers receiving a nuisance call every month, TalkTalk will let customers to take back control with its new tool, Check and Report.

Check and Report allows customers to check who has called them through the Check and Report website and report unwanted callers. TalkTalk will continually monitor all reported numbers and publically post them on the Check and Report database. Users can also see whether a number is currently blocked from the TalkTalk network, how many people have searched for the number previously, as well as how many people have commented.

Donna Moore, Head of Scam Prevention at TalkTalk said: “Protecting our customers is incredibly important to us and we remain committed to reducing the amount of time our customers spend dealing with unwanted calls. We’ve developed Check and Report to empower customers by giving them a simple way to defend themselves against unwanted nuisance, sales, scam and silent calls.”

Check and Report is the latest phone security measure TalkTalk has introduced and follows several steps already taken to help customers protect themselves from unwanted calls. TalkTalk recently switched on Caller Display and Last Call Barring for all TalkTalk customers for free. These features enable customers to see who is calling and gives them the ability to block unwanted calls by simply dialling 14258.
