TV, broadband, phone and mobile provider, TalkTalk, has today announced plans to revamp its mobile TV experience.

The company, which was named TV Provider of the Year earlier this month, will extend its partnership with CSG International and integrate the Ascendon™ digital platform to enable customers to watch more content on the go, in and out of the home.

The large-scale update will offer TalkTalk’s 1.3m TV customers a more streamlined platform, to make it easier for customers to find everything they want to watch in one place.

Viewers will also be able to take advantage of new app features such as the ability to pre-order films, and a newly-created ‘Season Pass’ feature, which provides access to multiple box sets in a single purchase.

The roll out is set to begin this summer, and TalkTalk will provide more detail on the full suite of new features in the coming months.

Making the announcement at Mobile World Congress, Aleks Habdank, Managing Director of TalkTalk TV said: “This is an exciting new partnership for TalkTalk TV and one that will enable us to accelerate our mobile viewing offering. The integration of the Ascendon platform complements a number of recent innovations aimed at delivering a faster, more intuitive and seamless TV experience. We led the market by being the first provider to roll out the Next Generation YouView upgrade, which the majority of our customers are already enjoying, and earlier this month, TalkTalk was named TV Provider of the Year in a public vote. We’re looking forward to customers being able to enjoy even more of the entertainment they love, whenever and wherever they want, both in and out of the home.”

TalkTalk viewers already enjoy multi-device viewing, as the latest movies and popular boxsets are available to stream, own and download on iOS and Android devices, alongside Smart TVs and Chromecast. TalkTalk homes can also set reminders or record live TV from their mobile, so if you're stuck at work and about to miss a programme, you can simply hit record, and the show will be ready and waiting when you get home.
