At TalkTalk, nothing matters more to us than our customers. We’re always listening and acting on customers’ feedback, to help make sure we’re offering the best possible products at an unbeatable price.

Over the last year, our TV team has been paying close attention to consumer demands and the way in which TV viewing is continuing to evolve. As a result, we’ve significantly developed our service with exciting upgrades – to the extent that TalkTalk was crowned TV Provider of the Year 2017 by public vote in February’s uSwitch Awards.

The developments kicked off in April last year when we introduced the TalkTalk TV Store, a multi device pay-as-you-go movies and TV service, which offers the chance to rent and buy blockbuster movies and popular box sets. There is no subscription and viewers can download content to watch offline in and out of the home.

Over the summer, we recognised that sports fans were growing increasingly frustrated by being tied into multiple lengthy contracts in order to watch their favourite sports team. We worked hard to offer TalkTalk TV customers’ access to both BT Sport and all Sky Sports channels in one place. As these additional channels are available on a 30-day rolling contract, there is no long-term commitment and viewers can tune in for a tournament and remove the channels when the sporting action is over.

More recently, we significantly improved the TV viewing experience when we became the first provider to roll-out the revolutionary Next-Gen YouView upgrade to all 1.3 million TV customers, at no extra charge. The fresh, easy-to-navigate design made it easier to find favourite shows. We also introduced the TalkTalk TV Planner App, which allows you to set reminders or record live TV from your mobile, meaning if you're stuck at work and about to miss a programme, you can simply hit record, and the show will be ready and waiting when you get home.

In between big launches, we’ve also extended our partnership with Sky, added new channels, offered some of the biggest boxing bouts and become the first UK pay-TV home for top YouTubers.

It’s been a busy year and TalkTalk TV is fast becoming one of the most compelling TV services. While we may be TV Provider of the Year, we have no plans to take our foot off the pedal just yet. Our customers are attracted to the huge range of content, flexibility and great value for money we offer - we’re committed to continuing to provide this and exceeding our customers’ expectations.
