Today is #givingtuesday – the day to do ‘good stuff for charity’ after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Across the country, thousands of people are committing to take action and so is TalkTalk.

Each of our employees can choose for a donation to be made to their charity of choice. This year, colleagues have asked us to support a variety of different fundraising activities, including the adventurous dragon boat racing and coast to coast cycle rides, as well as the old favourites such as quizzes and bake sales. Others have used the donation to sponsor their friends or family, to help them boost their fundraising total, or chosen a charity that is just close to their hearts.

We’re proud to help our employees support the charities that matter most to them, donating thousands of pounds every year and we’re looking forward to processing requests that come through for #givingtuesday too.

We’re also celebrating the fact that we’ve now raised £3 million over the last 10 years for Ambitious about Autism. At TalkTalk we’re passionate about the positive role technology can play in improving lives and want to support more and more people to enjoy the benefits of the digital world, safely and securely. Together with our employees, suppliers and customers, our fundraising is helping to make the ordinary possible for children and young people with autism.

We’re funding projects such as Talk about Autism - a safe, secure and friendly online community and discussion forum for everyone affected by autism. TalkTalk has supported this initiative since it began in 2010 and it now has over 10,000 members and last year it received over 250,000 visits, but there are always more families to reach.

We are also helping to fund assistive technology. Some of those living with autism are unable to communicate verbally and rely on technology to communicate. Technology plays a vital role in helping them to express themselves and enjoy the world around them. Our fundraising helps young people to learn in and outside the classroom, whilst also teaching them how to enjoy technology safely.
