TalkTalk has today revealed the newest way for viewers to get a taste of stardom and star in The X Factor ad breaks.

The proud sponsors of The X Factor have launched a new app, called “FX Star”, which allows fans to create their own videos for the chance to star on national TV. Building on the growing popularity of filters, X Factor fans can now overlay animated filters on their image as they sing along to hit songs.

 

Filters available include:

  • Comic Book - Transforms singer’s face to look like a cartoon-style comic book illustration, complete with dots and bold colours
  • Party Paint – Singer’s face is instantly covered in glow in the dark face paint
  • Apple Head – Singer’s face is transformed into a larger than life big apple, in which dancing worms wriggle out from the apple to join in the video
  • Glam Rock - Massive 80s glam rock hair and makeup

 

As well as new visuals, viewers also have an array of hit singles to choose from. Songs available at launch include Zara Larsson’s top three hit ‘Lush Life,’ Sigala’s ‘Give Me Your Love’, and Birdy’s ‘Wild Horses’.

The best videos will be hand-picked to feature in The X Factor ad breaks on Saturday and Sunday nights from 27th August, and new filters and tracks will be added to FX Star throughout the series of The X Factor.

With 2016 marking TalkTalk’s tenth year as sponsors of The X Factor, it’s hoped that FX Star will continue to provide the feel good entertainment the X Factor ad breaks have become known for.

How to star in the TalkTalk X Factor ad breaks:

Step 1: Download the FX Star app from the Apple App Store or Google Play 

Step 2: Select a filter

Step 3: Select a track

Step 4: Use your device’s camera to film yourself singing along to the track

Step 5: Submit your video for the chance to feature on TV during the X Factor ad breaks

Step 6: Share your video through social media
