We’re on a mission to make Britain better off and we believe that our people and our products make our communities a better place for everyone.

Partners and awards

We partner with many organisations to help us achieve our aims. Some have awarded us certifications.

Charities

Ambitious about Autism

We’re proud supporters of this national charity for children and young people with autism. They provide services, raise awareness and understanding and campaign for change. We have raised over £2m since our initial partnership in 2002 and they are the primary beneficiary of our annual supply partner fundraiser, the Digital Heroes Auction.

Charities Aid Foundation

CAF provides our company Company Account service to manage our donations to charity partners. We also participate in their Give As You Earn® service so that all of our employees can donate to their chosen charities tax free. Learn more

The ClementJames Centre

The centre is a charity focussed on offering education and employment skills support in the community surrounding our West London office. They provide opportunities to over 1,000 local young people and adults each year. In 2012 we began sponsoring their initiative that brings broadband laptops and advice to digitally excluded citizens in North Kensington. In addition, we will be providing the time and expertise of our people to support their work in strengthening the outlook of the neighbourhood that we share. Learn more

Cool Earth

This registered charity – endorsed by Sir David Attenborough – protects the world’s most endangered rainforests, whose destruction accounts for over 20% of global CO2 emissions. Rather than planting trees, they work directly with rainforest communities to protect their local habitat from being cut down. In 2012 we began donating 35p to Cool Earth each time a TalkTalk customer adds Global Minutes Boost to their account.

The Hamilton Davies Trust

This organisation supports grass roots projects that improve the North West communities of Irlam, Cadishead and Rixton-with-Glazebrook. TalkTalk has major offices in Irlam and nearby Birchwood, and our people work together on volunteering and fundraising projects to boost the local area. Learn more

QPR Community Trust

This is the community outreach charity of Queens Park Rangers, our West London office’s local football club. In recent years, our staff taught their Extra Time Club (for the over 60’s) how to safely use the internet. Previously, they trained our staff to earn their community football certificate, giving them the skills to teach youngsters in their communities. Learn more

Digital inclusion and internet safety

Citizens Online

Citizens Online is a national charity that was set up to tackle the issues of digital inclusion, to make sure that the Internet is available to everybody and to help individuals and communities understand and gain the benefits of being online. TalkTalk partners with this charity for the annual TalkTalk Digital Heroes Awards. Learn more

In 2014 we, alongside the other four major ISP’s joined forces to launch Internet Matters, an independent not for profit organisation that provides information, support and advice on child internet safety. It's the first of its kind in the world and we hope the Internet Matters online portal becomes the single most authoritative tool for parents to get quick and easy access to the best available resources.

Go ON UK

Apps for Good is an open-source education movement that enables young people to create mobile and social apps to solve problems that matter to them. A major highlight in the programme is the Apps for Good Awards, a platform which allows school kids taking part in the programme to showcase their apps and be recognised for their brilliant work. We sponsor the "Connected Communties" category in the Awards and have supported apps such as Safe Nav and The Story Wall. This year we also sponsor the Apps for Good programme at five schools local to our main offices and across the UK.
Code Club is a nationwide network of free, volunteer-led, after-school clubs for children aged 9-11. They create projects to teach children how to program by showing them how to make computer games, animations and websites. We came across Code Club when they entered our annual awards scheme and went on to be chosen as the TalkTalk Digital Hero winner for 2012. More recently we were able to support the not for profit organisation to help produce an exciting gallery section for their website, where kids are given the chance to upload and boast their coding creations. The gallery will go live this year.
